Quick answer
BMO U.S. SCRA overview
BMO lists email and mail options for SCRA requests and for ending a qualifying vehicle lease. We did not find an additional BMO military benefit beyond federal protections.
Federal protections are separate from any additional benefit offered by a bank.

Federal SCRA rule
Start with when the debt began.
Federal SCRA interest relief generally concerns qualifying debt from before military service. A bank's extra benefit can be broader or more generous, but it does not replace the federal eligibility test.

BMO lists covered accounts, federal protections, and two request routes.
BMO's SCRA section describes how it handles qualifying requests. BMO still determines whether a customer, account, and service period qualify.
Accounts BMO U.S. names
- Mortgage loans
- Home-equity loans and lines of credit
- Automobile and RV loans
- Motor-vehicle leases
- Overdraft lines of credit
- Credit cards

- Business-purpose loans involving a sole proprietor, personal guarantee, or individual liability

Protections BMO U.S. describes
- 6% interest-rate path for eligible pre-service debt
- BMO says eligible debt incurred before military service may be reduced to 6% per year during active duty, with required payments reduced to reflect that rate. For this interest-rate path, BMO says a request must arrive within 180 days after active duty ends and may be applied retroactively when appropriate.
- Qualifying motor-vehicle lease termination
- BMO says a qualifying motor-vehicle lease may be ended without an early-termination fee when the SCRA conditions apply. This is lease-termination relief, not an interest-rate refund.
- Foreclosure and repossession protection
- BMO lists protection from foreclosure or repossession of collateral unless a court order or written waiver is obtained.
- Payments still remain due
- BMO says payments remain required on accounts receiving SCRA benefits and that late payments, missed payments, or other defaults may still be reported to credit bureaus.
How BMO U.S. says to request help
- One accepted military-status record
- BMO says at least one accepted record must be obtained or provided. Its SCRA Advocate Team may obtain DMDC verification, or the customer may provide an accepted order or qualifying commanding-officer letter.
- Bank-listed email
- BMO lists servicemembers@bmo.com for submitting a request or asking for help with benefits and eligibility. The page does not identify the address as secure, so ask BMO for a secure way to send orders, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, or other sensitive records.
- Mail for requests and records
- BMO lists Servicemember Support, 180 N. Executive Drive, Brookfield, WI 53005 for mailed requests and military-status documentation.
Orders First does not send documents to BMO. Confirm the correct destination and a secure method before sharing military records or personal identifiers.
