A short walkthrough

One step at a time.

  1. Check the service on your orders

Find the authority and dates for this period of service. Guard and Reserve duty can follow different rules. Use the guide to check the exact conditions; orders alone do not settle every benefit.

  2. Match each bill to its next step

Review credit cards and loans opened before the qualifying service period, housing and vehicle leases, and phone or other service contracts. Use the creditor or servicer named on each current statement. Each protection has its own conditions.

  3. Prepare, review and send it yourself

For a federal interest-cap request, check your dates, write your request and add proof of service. Confirm the destination and keep a delivery record. Service not started? Use your provider's process; our request tool needs a service period that has begun.

What is changing for you?

Keep the sources with the next step.

Use the bank and credit-union directory for reviewed provider details, or the Request Route Index to examine the public instructions and download the reference data.

Orders First does not collect your orders or statements, send your request, or track a response. Your provider decides eligibility and the final adjustment.
